Here are a few details you might to know about my book. Purpose behind writing this book The idea behind writing this book was to inspire people, especially Muslims to live optimistically. I observed that a lot of Muslims, particularly Asian Muslims end up whining about every little misfortune in their lives. Even when things are going well the focus is always on the negative. Some of my own friends keep crying about their situation with no will to change their mindset about life which leads to more misery. My source of inspiration My life, the incidents that took place in my life, the stories I learnt about other peoples’ lives and my psychologist profession. Who should read this book? Anyone who wants/needs inspiration to live their life positively with hopeful thoughts. What to expect from Reflections From Life: A Muslim’s Guide To Inspiration? It is packed with honest tales from my life that led me to develop this positive perspective. It consists of well researched topics with mentioning of various scientific studies. It is concise and effective and can be read by those who have a busy schedule. What to not expect from Reflections From Life: A Muslim’s Guide To Inspiration? It is not an Islamic preaching book because I am no scholar. Where can you purchase it from? It will be released on Amazon so will be available there for purchase. However, for my readers located in Pakistan I am trying to arrange another option. Follow my Facebook page for more updates. How to remain updated about the book? Lately, I haven’t traveled a lot like I used to as a teenager but I do like to roam around my own city from time to time. As much as I enjoy a quiet time at home with my family I also like to avail opportunities where I can visit different places in the city. Even if that is not happening, then I end up meeting up with my friends and plan hangout trips. So being someone who is constantly on the go, I need scarves that are of good material and that won’t cause irritation to my skin. Since I use my regular scarves as a niqab I really need a material that won’t irritate my facial skin, especially during summer. I was contacted by Hidden Pearls to try out their scarves. As you know my blog usually focuses on books, food and travel guides, I took up this opportunity because I am always in need of a good hijab that I can wear it during my regular hangouts to the restaurant or other places in the city. Hidden Pearls is located in UK, their presence can be found on Facebook, Instagram and they have their own website where you can view a wide variety of the products they are offering. On request I was sent two chiffon scarves both of which were of decent colour and they were sent to Pakistan without any hassle. I wore them to my university as well as when hanging out with friends and it was for a full day but the scarf remained intact and never slipped. The material is also very soft and light and did not cause any irritation to my skin despite covering my face with it for the whole day. You should really check them especially if you are residing in UK or anywhere around it. Recently they have also introduced their collection of Islamic gifts and you might want to check them out.
Do you consider yourself a travel freak? What is that one thing you would never go out without, apart from a smartphone? Travelling has always been considered as a means to have an adventure and to bring change from the boring routine. But what, if you can get much more from your travelling experience than just souvenirs, photos and a relaxing time away from your place of residence. Here are 5 ways you can make travelling a meaningful experience for yourself and also for your family. 1) Instead of living in a lavish hotel live among the residents What is the purpose of travelling to a new place when you are going to head back to your comfort zone at night? Ditch the idea of booking a hotel and instead look for a vacant spot in the areas where the locals reside. You can even find out if any family in that city is willing to let you hire a room in their home. Of course, a lot of adjustments will have to be done. But that is the beauty of this idea. You will live among the people of that place and will get a firsthand experience of their lifestyle. 2) Travel to nearby areas on foot Instead of getting a cab, walk to nearby locations. Walk to the nearest coffee shop, restaurant, mall or simply take a walk around the area you are staying at. Feel the people walking past you, heading to their workplace, running to get back to their family, living a life in routine like you did back in your city. It will make you see the similarity between the people in your city and the people of this city. 3) Visit their local parks This is one of the places that usually get skipped but I’d say that if you are looking for a meaningful travelling experience then you ought to visit the local parks. This is where you will find people of that city coming from all walks of life. This is where you can get to know what it is like living in that city. This is where you will get the opportunity to observe people in their true skin. 4) Do some solo exploration You may be on a travelling journey with a group of people or with your family, but you ought to spend some time alone wandering in the city you are visiting. It will give you a sense of confidence in strangers. Just because you are in a different city/country doesn’t mean you need to hold onto to your own people. 5) Leave the place only after you have made local friends When visiting a new city or a country, don’t just visit it to check out its popular attractions. Instead, get to know the people of that place. Spend time with them. You might even find someone who will be willing to be your guide in that city/country. You haven’t truly visited a place until you have made friends there. Do you enjoy travelling? Tell me about a meaningful experience from your own travelling diary. We have reached the 16th day of Ramadan, Alhamdulilah. Many of you out there who might have had a hard time eating healthy and now since only 14 days are left until Eid you might have realized that you should really shed some weight.
This Ramadan I have been trying out some healthy eating techniques and Alhamdulilah so far it has been working and so I thought why not share it with my readers as well. Using this routine I managed to lose weight right after the 10th Ramadan and so it was a prove that my current routine is effective for losing weight. The tips I am providing here are particularly for the time when you will be breaking your fast.
1) Start with eating 3 dates
Apart from being the Sunnah, dates are extremely healthy because it provides your body with enough energy that helps to digest the food that you binge at the time of breaking your fast. Also, by eating 3 dates you will be able to satisfy your hunger.
2) Drink a big glass of water
While eating the dates, sip from a big glass of water because your body needs to be hydrated in order for your body’s metabolism to work well.
4) Eat fruits over desserts
Stock your fridge with your favourite fruits. Keep them at your reach at the time of Magrib. Eat them instead of desserts.
5) Drink green tea after breaking your fast
Green tea will help digest the food and will also boost your metabolism in order to burn more calories.
6) Be mindful of your body
Stay aware of how your body feels. Your body will signal you that it is full and doesn’t needs to be fed with anything more.
7) Practise controlling your urges
You will only succeed with these tricks if you’d practise controlling your urges every day. Each time you will sit to break your fast, you will feel like getting your hands on all the deep fried stuffs. The only way to work on resisting that is to practise it daily.
Note: I am following these techniques in combination with daily cardio workout. Do check out my Instagram for details of a Ramadan workout e-book for free. Along with exercise, my suhoor comprises of Ispaghol (Google it to know more), oats/cornflakes, yoghurt drink, dates, sometime cheese toast and eggs. Also, I try to drink at least 1.5 litre of water from Magrib till before Fajr adhan.

Last month I wrote a blog post on why book piracy is a form of stealing. This time I want to address the readers who purchase pirated books.
Just like how someone who is earning from selling pirated books is similar to stealing, in the same way buying pirated books is similar to supporting a thief. You pay these pirated book sellers money for cheating with the authors and stealing their work without their permission. Hence this is where readers go wrong and are actually not supporting the author but rather their wrong doers. I understand that sometimes original books are quite expensive but still buying pirated booked is an injustice done to authors and publishers. So what can readers do?
The sky is the limit. You just have to be creative. Do whatever you can to support your favourite authors and this does not include purchasing pirated books. You can drop in more ideas in the comments section below.

Lot of websites and online stores are selling pirated copies of books or providing free PDF downloads. They call it a business but they don’t realize that they are actually stealing from the author.
Books piracy is not just illegal because you are copying someone else’s work but also because it is a form of stealing. A book isn’t written in days but rather it takes months or even years most of the time. The money you are making from these pirated books is the rightful money of the author who is the mastermind behind that brilliant book. Getting a book published is not as easy as writing an article on MS Word and then clicking on the print option. It requires time, effort, energy, and sometimes the writer goes days without eating or sleeping properly because all they are thinking is how to make the best out of their book. When it finally gets published and there happens to be a high demand all these predators making money through books piracy, grabs a copy and gets on with making pirated copies and sells them cheaply. They cover their wrong deed by saying they are providing inexpensive books so more people can read but say whatever, any copy made without the permission of the author or the publishing company is a form of stealing.
I got the opportunity to work with few authors for my blog post ‘A Glimpse Into The Muslimah Authors’ Eid Around The World’ and also at other times when I was asked to do book reviews. Authors spend so much time writing, editing, proof reading and even doubting their book that at the end it makes them so stressed out. Finally when their book gets published and turns out to be popular, some people start earning wrongfully out of their work.
My request to these companies is to stop making money out of pirated books. It is totally wrong and this is not what the authors deserve for all their hard work. You can instead earn money by opening a library and purchasing original copies of books. Also, readers should stop supporting these businesses. In my next blog post I will come up with tips for readers to read books without supporting these types of businesses. Stay tuned.
