No Turning Back by Susan Lewis is a book filled with lots of emotions. Each chapter of this novel brought me a new dose of emotions. The novel sheds light on how a single mistake in the past can haunt your future despite having many years passed in between.
Seventeen years ago Eva was a celebrity and was at the peak of her career when her boyfriend leaves her pregnant for the sake of his wife. As... much as she knew she was wrong to be having an affair with a married man she went with the flow. But the night when her boyfriend leaves her she is almost murdered by a serial killer. She was saved but with lots of scars left on her body and the turn of events makes her giveaway her new born son for adoption. After seventeen years Eva is married to a detective and is happily living in a luxurious residence while owning a small designer boutique. But now she longs to be united with her son whom she had carelessly shunned long ago. Her every attempt to reach her son is dismissed by the court. She is still happy to have a loving husband, elder sister and her mature niece and nephew. But history repeats itself when she finds out that her husband and sister are seeing each other leaving her shattered all over again.
This is where the real struggle begins and she is made to encounter with her past actions. The characters in this book are very well formed as well as the relationships between characters. I really enjoyed the character of Elaine,Eva's stepmother, for every situation the character was used to present words of wisdom and it deeply touched my heart.
