This book was sent to me by the author, Hafsa Zarnab. She is a young and talented writer who has beautifully portrayed a life not everyone is aware of. The book consists of a story that cannot be found on any documentary shows or even in the news.
Clay revolves around a young boy, Adam Patel who is sent to Karachi for education and a better future while his parents and siblings stay behind in Burma. Adam reaches Karachi with several questions while also aspiring to become a doctor. He faces immense humiliation from his maternal uncles. Having to wake up everyday hearing curses and getting beaten, Adam starts despising his life in Karachi. He is enrolled in a government school where he often has to deal with bullies. Lots of calamities fall on this little boy but his strength and courage finally wins him a part time job at a ceramic shop. He thinks that finally life will be manageable now and his dream to become a doctor will finally happen until one day his uncle throws him out of his life. He is left with nothing but just what he had when he had arrived to Karachi.
The book kept me intrigued till the last page. The book is concise but will tremendously inspire you. I truly recommend my readers this book.
