I remember reading poems as a child and during my teenage years and I always enjoyed them. Unfortunately during my time the English poems that we read at school were written by non-Muslims and had different perspectives about life.
When I received the book by Stoori and flipped through the pages I was fascinated by the choice of topics in the poem. I enjoyed reading them while sipping my morning coffee or during bedtime and felt myself being transported back into my teenage years.
Stoori has written poems using Islam as the basic theme. Through her poems she has written about modesty, backbiting, prayers and Allah. I believe this is a must read for adults even if they are not into poems and you should even purchase this book for your children because the poems are easy to grasp and can serve as a way of learning more about Islam. In fact I think that books like these should become a part of school courses in Muslim countries.
I will be doing a few videos on my favourite poems from this book, Be Like A Shining Star after taking the author’s permission. Also, I will be looking forward to my readers reading this book and getting back on this blog post or my page to comment about the book.
