I had just started with my holidays and this seemed like the perfect book to begin with. The Holiday Home is a beautiful tale of two sisters and their family. The story revolves around this family’s holiday which is spent at Atlantic House as they traditionally do it every year.
Prudence and Constance are sisters who are never able to get along since they were kids. Now grown up and already mothers of a teenager both of them still can’t sink in their differences. They keep breaking into fights and quarrels. During this same holiday someone from the past returns and creates more differences between the two sisters. Moreover, Prudence realizes some very deep truths about her husband, Constance discovers her husband’s secrets, and both of them together learn something about their parents that was hidden from them since forever. Moreover, a tragic event leaves them all devastated yet together for the rest of their lives.
The Holiday Home was hard to put down. I still can’t get enough of the beauty of Atlantic House and the beautiful sea that surrounded the house. The book made me laugh, cry and feel a thrill of excitement. Fern Britton has done a fantastic job and I can’t wait to read more of her titles.
